Global auction house Christie’s has made five senior appointments in Hong Kong: Eric Chang, deputy chairman of Asian 20th and Contemporary Art, Ben Kong, deputy chairman of Chinese Paintings, Vickie Sek, deputy chairman of jewellery and jadeite, Jinqing Cai, president of Christie’s China and Rebecca Wei, president of Christie’s Asia (Excluding China).

The appointments mark a key stage in the auction house’s expansion in Asia.

“In a world where so much depends on individual talent and personal relationships, Christie’s Asia owes much to its formidable team, Vickie Sek, Ben Kong and Eric Chang, who have long led our development in their respective fields,” said François Curiel, Chairman of Christie’s Asia Pacific.

“Recently, they were joined by Jinqing Cai and Rebecca Wei, who have brought their great knowledge of the market and management skills. Supported by Xin Li, deputy chairman of Christie’s Asia, and over 150 colleagues, they will now drive together our ambitious and creative plans for this key region in today’s global market.”
